Willa Mak is a historic property located in the city center that continues the magnificent pre-war traditions of the best guesthouses in Zakopane, visited by the cream of society and artistic bohemians from all over Poland. Many famous Poles came to Villa Mak for meetings of the Bridge Club. Among them were Kornel Makuszyński, the author of popular books for children and youth (Koziołek Matołek, O dwóch takich, co ukradli księżyc czy Szatan z siódmej klasy), Marian Herman - a poet, satirist, and author of songs, several hundred of which became hits, and finally Karol Szymanowski - one of the most prominent Polish composers and pianists.
